From May 5th to May 7th, 2026, the Deanship of the Scientific Research Center at the University of Duhok organized a three-day training course entitled "Scientific Research and Artificial Intelligence". Approximately 175 teachers and researchers attended the course. The primary objective of opening this course was to enable researchers to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) effectively in writing scientific research. During the course, three teachers delivered seminars. The details of each day, the presenting lecturers, and the titles of their seminars are outlined below:

  • Day 1 (Tuesday, 05-05-2026): Dr. Shaheen Abdullah Abdulkarim conducted and presented her session titled "An Introduction to AI in Scientific Research". In this presentation, the lecturer focused thoroughly on what AI is and its significance in the scientific world. She also highlighted when AI emerged, how it evolved, how researchers can benefit from it in scientific research, and when they should avoid using it.
  • Day 2 (Wednesday, 06-05-2026): Dr. Karwan Jafar Abdulrahman commenced his session titled "AI Tools in Scientific Research". On this day, he discussed the availability of numerous AI applications and tools, noting that some are free while others are paid. He pointed out that there are many free tools suitable for writing scientific research, such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Kimi, etc.
  • Day 3 (Thursday, 07-05-2026): Dr. Dezhin Hussein Abdulaziz started her session under the title "Utilizing AI for Data Analysis in Scientific Research". The lecturer demonstrated in great detail how researchers can analyze their data using various AI tools, and how they can generate charts, diagrams, and statistics to include in their scientific research. To illustrate this, she conducted several practical exercises and analyzed various examples.
